With RCB and DD both at the bottom of point table, someone needed to advance to march inside the playoff births and it was RCB today with AB DeVilliers amazing stroke play of 90 runs from 39 balls. With the Chinnaswamy stadium erupting for every run scored, it was a delight to watch ABD score at such a fast rate. The target set by DD tonight was not enough on this ground, the ground was full of moisture and stopping, it was’t coming onto the bat. Captain Gautam Ghambir got out quickly without scoring much, SS Iyer and R Pant built partnership without taking any risks.
RCB still had issues with their death bowling with no fast bowling options left at the end, Captain Kohli relying on Corey Anderson’s bowling his first over in the 19th over. It did not prove expensive as he gave away only 8 runs but RCB still have some bowling issues that needed to ironed out.
It was a relief for RCB with AB DeVilliers returning to form but problems with DD continue. With 5 games played, they have lost 4 games which is a serious concern. Someone from DD needs to step up the game, Captain Ghambir showing mettle and putting enough pressure on the opposition but showing no results. What does DD need to do ? Your comments ?
