RCB and MI both needed a desperate win but only RCB succeed, ABD was still not playing this match for RCB which seemed like a good omen for MI but it was otherwise. Even Pollard back in the side did not make any better for MI from losing. RCB started off losing DeKock early but M Vohra and McCullum consolidated the start which was then followed by captain Kohli to get to 140 in 17th over but an excellent death bowling restricted the RCB total but the last over from Mitchell McClenaghan gave away 24 runs to de Grandhomme particularly the last ball costed 13 runs because of a no ball and 2 sixes of the same delivery.
MI needed 168 runs off 120 balls which looked very easy with Pollard back into the squad but MI lost first 3 wickets in quick succession in the first 4 overs got MI to the backfoot, Pollard did’nt impress either getting out early without making much impact, JP Duminy was looking good but got run out, then Pandya brothers looked like taking MI home but a very tight bowling from RCB in the middle overs built the pressure for Mumabi needing 35 runs in last 3 overs, it was good to see Mohammad Siraj and Southee bowling the last overs not giving enough for the Pandya brothers to strike. Eventually the last over was bowled by Southee needing 25 runs with Krunal Pandya and Ben Cutting still at the crease but Southee kept things under control to get the much needed win for RCB.
RCB has improved the death bowling and also doing well on the batting side without AB deVilliers, good sign for RCB but Mumbai Indians are in a very state now, your thoughts?
