It was a brutal assault from DD batsmen namely Prithvi Shaw, captain SS Iyer and Risabh Pant on DD homeground Feroz Shah kotla ground at Delhi got DD to a formidable total of 196 in 17.1 overs when rain stopped play, Risabh Pant was so brutal in his attack that his strike rate was 237 with 69 runs off just 29 balls. RR bowlers were smashed all around and no bowler was spared.
Revised target of 151 in 12 overs was huge for RR to chase but Jos Butler assault matched the one from opposition DD batsmen, Butler and Darcy Short were cruising with 79 for no loss at the end of 6 overs and looked like RR were going to get their target very easily, superb googly from Mishra got Butler, Samson could not make any impact followed by Stokes, assault from D Short in the 10th over with 3 sixes off Glen Maxwell over brought RR very close to the target needing 30 runs in 12 balls, the match went down to the wire with Gowtham at the crease who had done the winning cameo before took 15 runs off Plunkett over, still needing 15 runs to win, good bowling from Trent Boult ensured DD win the match.
RR are still stuck with 4 points, they have a good bowling attack with Archer, Stokes and Unadkat but still low in confidence. Jos Butler should open the innings for RR going forward and bring in a much better performance in bowling. Your thoughts and comments?
