KKR derail the favorites and most experienced CSK to steal 10 points and restricting CSK to reach the top of the table, KKR won the toss and elected to chase, CSK mostly relying on experience again opened with Faf and Watson, CSK did no mistakes but KKR made some fielding errors that could have brought down the target 15-20 runs. Vintage Dhoni was still in his all time best even with a visible back spasm issues, Rayudu lost his momentum after going really well, Jadeja could have been better playing 12 balls and scoring just 12 runs. The target set by CSK was not threatening at all.
KKR top order had a shaky start with Lynn going early, Narine was living dangerously with dropped catches that costed CSK the match, Uttappa did not last long either but the young Shubman Gill and Rinku Singh had a brief partnership that was followed by partnership between Gill and captain Dinesh Kartik. Experience of Kartik and finesse of the youngster Gill with 57 off 36 balls scoring effortlessly and timing sweetly ensured KKR were home in less than 18 overs. It was very pleasing to watch Gill promoted up the order utilized the opportunity smashing Watto to 3 boundaries in one single over to reduce the pressure mounted by CSK with KKR losing wickets.
KKR have a settled batting side and plenty of bowling options that CSK is lacking on the bowling side now, we have wait and see if CSK will survive the playoffs, your thoughts and comments?
