CSK getting better and better every match, Dhoni made 3 changes but still ended up on the winning side, what a way to go to the playoffs doing everything right. CSK started with a new opener Faf, Watson survived first ball and then there was no stopping for Watson, he showed why is regarded as the best all rounder of T20 cricket with a 40 ball 78 runs, first wicket partnership of 102 runs in 10.5 overs was enough for an electric start for CSK, then came in form Rayudu and Dhoni who were brutal to DD bowlers, Rayudu getting run out for the third time but Dhoni’s form ensured a huge total of 212 for DD to chase. Boult and Plunkett proved expensive bowlers for DD.
DD lost 3 wickets top over wickets in the first 7 overs that put the DD batsmen on the defensive, needless run resulting in form batsmen SS Iyer getting run out was the game changer for CSK, RR Pant put his heart out and batted really well, Vijay Shakar was not striking the ball very well at the other end but RR Pant was trying really hard for the big runs but was not successful all the time. After RR Pant departure, what looked like DD losing by margin of 30-40 runs, a brilliant cameo from Vijay Shakar off 19th over brought down the asking rate to 28 runs of last over, last over was even more interesting with a six off the second ball brought down the asking rate to 16 off last three balls but CSK finished off just 3 runs off last three balls.
Good game for DD but they need to win all games from here to qualify for playoff, your thoughts?
