Despite RCB posting a huge total, CSK chased the total with 2 balls to spare. RCB started well with DeKock taking on the RCB bowlers, Kohli was looking good but gifted his wicket with an uncontrolled shot. ABD came in and started with flurry of sixes, a second wicket partnership of 103 runs in 14th over between DeKock and ABD ensured RCB were on course for a humongous total. Mandeep Singh with the help Grandhomme and Washington Sunder ensured a total of 205 for CSK to chase. CSK bowlers did a good job is taking crucial wickets of ABD and DeKock to get RCB scoring rate in control.
CSK had a shaky start with in form Shane Watson gone in the first over but in form Rayudu was such a good form scoring freely and fearlessly. He was striking the ball well but wickets kept falling on the other end and soon CSK were 74 for 4 wickets in the 9th over, in came MSD and started off well, Rayudu and MSD played with confidence and took the RCB bowlers to task, Umesh Yadav and Mohammad Siraj were pick of the bowlers bowled well. Kohli did not have a very good plan in using the bowlers at his disposal, MSD and Rayudu razed the total with a flurry of fours and sixes. Dropped catch of Rayudu in the 16th over may have costed RCB the match.
Clearly Kohli does’nt have a bowling plan, Washington Sunder was’nt used well enough. Kohli needs to trust his bowlers and plan well, he is getting suggestions from Ashish Nehra all the time that is hindering with his thinking, I think Ashish need to sit tight at the dug out and not wonder out to give his suggestions to Kohli that may be hindering in his thinking.
