It was a funtastic day of cricket with wickets tumbling, superb fielding and excellent bowling. SRH again proved why they are considered the best bowling side even though Bhuvi and big Billy were out today. It was the homeground of MI who did well to restrict the SRH batsmen with excellent bowling and fielding, Mitchell McClenaghan was excellent with the ball taking two important wickets in his first over putting pressure on SRH batsmen, wickets fell at regular intervals with the exception of some scratchy innings from Williamson and Yusuf Pathan. Williamson walked off the field showing excellent sportsmanship when he nicked an inside edge to Hardik Pandya. Yusuf hung on taking ones and twos which is completely not his personality because of tail end batsmen faltering at the other end, he then tried to accelerate but fell in the 19th over. Overall MI bowlers namely Mustafizur Rahman, Markande, McClenaghan, Bumrah and Hardik Pandya did very well with the ball to restrict SRH to a low score of 118
MI needing 118 runs off 120 balls which is run a ball started off slowly, SRH broke the opening stand and then followed up with 2 more wickets with some excellent catching, then Krunal Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav had a breif partnership which was broken in the 12th over, Pollard got out with another superb delivery from Rashid Khan and excellent catching from Shikar Dhawan without contributing much. With 73/4 at the end of 13 overs with Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya still at the crease, MI batsmen lost momemtum and got all out for 87.
SRH successfully defended the lowest score of IPL till date, their bowlers including Shakib, Rashid, SS kaul, Sandeep Sharma and Nabi bowled well to snatch the victory away from MI. What could have been done better for MI? your thougths?, comments?
