SRH did very well to defend the total for the third time without their key bowler Bhuvi and big Billy Stanlake. SRH won the toss and decided to bat first, again Dhawan got out quickly but Williamson and new opener Alex Hales did well to see through until 13 overs for a partnership of 92 runs, it was a slow pitch with no bounce, K Gowtham Ben Stokes and G Archer were the pick of the bowlers bowling the most dot balls in the innings, again SRH had a hard time accelerating at the death overs scoring just 28 runs from the last 4 overs.
RR started off losing Tripathi but some cool batting from Sanju Samson and captain Rahane had sorted out the SRH bowlers scoring freely and effortlessly taking ones and twos and it looked like RR will reach home safely but the wicket of Samson and Ben Stokes was the turning point of the match, it was a masterstroke to bring in YK Pathan to bowl in the 11th over fetched the wicket of Ben Stokes gone for knot. With Rahane at the crease the target was still achievable but some great bowling from Sandeep Sharma and SS Kaul ensured that the mountain of runs at the death took the game away from RR. RR could not capitalizeĀ from the bowling of Rashid Khan, SS Kaul and Basil Thampi at the death. RR lose by 11 runs
RR just lost in the chase, they did not promote G Archer for getting the scoring rate up but instead relied on the not so experienced MK Lomror, when are they going to learn? your thoughts?
